Our Mission

Mission Statement

To break the foster care to prison pipeline by providing access to local resources and opportunities that support our aging out foster youth, by collaborating with local leaders, businesses, and programs to provide dedicated support for youth ages 16-24 years old, preparing them to become productive members of society.

Vision Statement

A world where foster youth thrive beyond care.

Welcome to the Foster Care Chamber of Commerce

The Foster Care Chamber of Commerce is the nation’s first chamber dedicated to empowering foster youth ages 14–24 as they transition into adulthood. We connect youth with workforce training, financial literacy, life-skills programs, and community partners to ensure they have the support, resources, and opportunities needed to succeed.

We believe economic stability is a form of care.

We believe mentorship is infrastructure.

And we believe young people deserve access to the same networks, opportunities, and champions as anyone else.

The Chamber serves as a connector, convener, and catalyst, bringing together foster youth, employers, educators, service providers, and community leaders to create sustainable outcomes. Not just short-term fixes.

FAQs

What is executive functioning coaching?

Executive functioning coaching helps children improve planning, organization, and time management skills. At I Coach Youth , your child will meet one-on-one with a friendly coach over video calls and use our interactive app and calendar to build habits and routines that actually stick.

How does executive functioning coaching work at I Coach Youth ?

We start by getting to know your child and their needs. Their coach then creates a personalized plan in our app, helps them track habits, and uses the I Coach Youth Calendar to bring structure to their day.

What skills does executive functioning coaching improve?

We work on important skills like self-control, working memory, planning, and time-management. We do this through fun, structured morning, productivity, and evening routines that help your child stay on track throughout the day.

Can coaching improve my child's daily routines?

Yes! We introduce structured morning and evening routines, plus a prioritized daily productivity routine, to help children build lasting executive functioning habits.

Why are executive functioning skills important?

Executive functioning skills are like your child's 'brain manager'. They help kids and teens manage their time, stay focused, and regulate their emotions. This gives them the tools to reach their goals in school, college, and beyond.

Can executive functioning skills be taught?

Yes! These skills develop in the brain as people grow. With the right coaching, practice, and tools, they can improve much faster. We use habit tracking, productivity tools, and structured routines to help them along.

Will executive functioning coaching help my child at school?

We target skills like time management, planning, focus, and getting started on tasks, all of which help kids perform better at school. Having a coach helps students stay accountable!

Is executive functioning coaching good for children with ADHD?

Yes! Many ADHD symptoms are linked to executive functioning challenges. I Coach Youth uses structured habits and tools that help manage ADHD symptoms like hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention.

Do executive functioning skills improve over time?

They do. When kids consistently use strategies like prioritizing tasks, blocking time for work, and checking their own progress, these skills become second nature. The best part is that these improvements carry over to every area of life.

How is it different from tutoring?

Tutoring targets subject knowledge. Executive functioning coaching focuses on how students learn. We build skills like organization, focus, and self-motivation that help them in every subject.
